Here are some of the most important people in my life. If you think you are important to me but cannot find your picture here, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten you. It takes time to update this page and I generally do so when I talk about you in my blog. Plus, I need your permission to put your picture on the internet, right? Please be patient, your turn will come, hopefully sooner than later. You will also notice that none of my colleagues appear here. I made that decision in order to avoid any possible problems with people at my workplace, even though I have excellent relationships with them.

Aki	Aki is a graphic designer and she has her own company. It’s still small but she’s working very hard at it. She was introduced to me by one of my colleagues. She’s one of my weekly students, and she’s a good friend, too. 僕の同僚に紹介されたアキはグラフィックデザイナーで事業やってます。プライベート生徒で友人です。
Anita	I met Anita when she was an ALT in Tajiri. At the time, I was working in the next town, Kogota. Although she usually lives in New-York, she is now in grad school in Philadelphia.　昔の僕と同じく外国語指導助手やっていたアニタはニューヨークの人です。今はフィラデルフィアで大学院やってます。
BEC	The “BEC” (Bouchard English Club) is one of my English conversation circles. The members are Hisako, Mashuku, Seiko and Yuka. We meet twice a month for lessons and occasionally go out for a drink together.　ベックは僕の一つの英会話です。メンバーズはヒサコ、マシュク、セイコ、ユカです。月に二回レッスンやってます。プライベートでも一緒に遊びに行きます。
Chung	Chung (pronounce: “Choum”) is Man’s little brother. He lives in Hochiminh, Vietnam, where he works as a bartender. マンの弟であるチュンです。ベトナムのホーチミンではバーテンダーとして働いています。
Dave and Nathalie	I met Dave and Nathalie when we were all CEGEP students. Dave and I co-managed a semi-professional band called Groovy Aardvark together for a few years. They now live in Brossard, Quebec. 20年ぐらい前に一緒短大学生やっていたデーブとナタリです。デーブと一緒に４年間ぐらいグルービーアードバーク（クールなツチブタって意味）というインディーズバンドのマネージャーしてた。彼らは今ケベック州のモントリオールの近くに住んでいます。
Hiromi	Hiromi is one of Toshi’s friends. She used to work at another Yamanakaya, but she works for a credit company now. We are good friends. 昔やまなかやでバイトやっていたヒロミは元々トシの友達です。今はクレジット会社で働いています。トシの繋がりで友人になりました。
Hisako	Hisako is president of a construction company. She is one of the BEC members. I met her while I was working at ALC. We meet twice a month for lessons and occasionally go out for a drink together.　ベックマンバーのヒサコは建築会社の社長やっています。僕がALCのバイトをやってた時に出会いました。たまにプライベートでも一緒に遊びに行きます。
Ian and Aimy	I met Ian and Aimy through one of my colleagues, who asked me to show them around Sendai when they came to live in Japan for one year. Ian is studying to be a real estate agent and Aimy is a financial consultant. They now live in Ottawa. 同僚に紹介されたイアンとエイミは一年間仙台に住んで今はカナダのオタワに住んでいます。イアンは不動産屋さんになるように勉強中でエイミは経済アドバイザーやっています。
Jun	Jun is an office worker. I met her when she was Ian and Aimy’s Japanese tutor. She is Yoshiko’s friend. We meet sometimes for drinks.ボランティアでイアンとエイミの日本語指導助手やっていたジュンはオーエルとして働いています。ヨシコの友達でたまに一緒に遊びに行きます。
Kana	Kana, an elementary school student, is Sachiko’s granddaughter. I met her when Sachiko asked me to teach them once a week. 小四年生になったばっかりカナはサチコの孫です。サチコと一緒に週に一回僕と英会話やってます。
Kazutoshi, Yumiko and their kids.	Kazutoshi, Yumiko and their three kids, Miho, Tomoki and Yuuka live in Ishinomaki . Kazutoshi works for a computer-related company and manages a cram school and Yumiko works part time in a restaurant. I teach Yumiko and her kids twice a month. 石巻に住んでいるカズトシ、ユミコと子供のミホ、トモキとユウカです。カズトシはコンピューター関係の会社員で塾の管理者でユミコはレストランでバイトやっています。ユミコと子供たちに月に二回教えてます。
Kenju	I met Kenju a few years ago through one of my ALT friends. He works as an English teacher south of Sendai. 数年前にALTの友達の繋がりで出会ったケンジュです。仙台の近くにある専門学校で英語の先生として働いています。
Let’s Talk	“Let’s Talk” is the name of one of my English conversation circles, and the largest adult group I teach to. We started over a year ago, and we meet twice a month for a two hour lesson.　二年前から月に二回開かれている英会話サークルのレッツトークは僕の英会話サークルの中でメンバーズが一番多いです。
Masaaki	Masaaki just graduated from Tohoku University. I met him when he was playing hockey with Ian in 2004. Since Ian left, we became pretty good friends and we often go out together. 東北大学の卒業したばっかりマサアキは去年イアンと一緒にアイスホッケーやってた時に会いました。今年からイタリアで留学して工業デザインの勉強する予定です。
Mashuku	Mashuku is an office worker. She is one of the BEC members. I met her while I was working at ALC. We meet twice a month for lessons and occasionally go out for a drink together. ベックマンバーのマシュクはオーエルとして働いています。僕がALCのバイトをやってた時に出会いました。たまにプライベートでも一緒に遊びに行きます。
Mika	Mika is one of my students in Ishinomaki. I met her when I was asked to teach her kids and Yumi’s kids. I see them twice a month, usually on the first and third Saturday. We sometimes have drinking parties or BBQs together.　石巻でユミと一緒に月に二回英会話やっているミカです。子供達にも教えてます。プライベートでもたまに遊びに行きます。
Miwa	I met Miwa in Kogota, when I first Came to Japan. She and Yuri are the first friends I made when I came to Japan. She is now studying in the States to be a kindergarten teacher. 僕が日本に来た時に小牛田に住んでいたミワです。日本に来てユリとはじめての友達でした。今は幼稚園の先生になるようにアメリカでは留学しています。
Pat and Sylvie	Pat is my best friend. I’ve known him since the 6^th grade, for almost 30 years. He works for a major beer company. Sylvie, a nurse, is his girlfriend, and they have two beautiful girls, Bianca and Chloé. 僕の小学校の同級生で、ベストフレンドのパットです。モントリオールの大きなビール会社で働いています。看護者しているシルビという彼女とビアンカとクロエの可愛い娘さんたち二人もいます。
Sachiko	Sachiko is a reflexologist and a car insurance broker. I met her when I bought her car in 2002. She then asked me to teach her and her granddaughter, Kana, once a week. She lets me use her office to teach other students. レフレックソロジと車保険代理やっているサチコに僕が彼女の車を買った時に会いました。あれから孫のカナと一緒に一回英会話をおしえてます。他の生徒にも教える時にサチコの事務を使わせていただきます。
Seiko	Seiko is an office worker. She is one of the BEC members. I met her while I was working at ALC. We meet twice a month for lessons and occasionally go out for a drink together.　 ベックマンバーのセイコはオーエルとして働いています。僕がALCのバイトをやってた時に出会いました。たまにプライベートでも一緒に遊びに行きます。
Sophie	Sophie and I were studying together at McGill. She came to Japan in 1999 and worked as an ALT for three years. She now works as an ESL teacher in St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu, Quebec. マックギル大学の後輩であるソフィです。１９９９年から三年間長野県でALTをしていました。現在はケベック州の三ジャンスールリシュリウ町の高校で英語の先生として働いています。
Tomomi	Tomomi was working at Yamanakaya when she was a college student. She went back to her hometown in Fukushima　mid-march 2005.　専門学校時代にやまなかやでバイトやっていたトモミです。2005年の三月に卒業してから福島の実家に帰りました。
Toshihiko	Toshi was the manager of Yamanakaya, a “yakiniku” (Korean BBQ) restaurant on Ichibanchou. I met him by repeatedly going to his restaurant, especially when Ian and Aimy were in Japan. In April 2005 he became the manager of another Yamanakaya. やまなかやの店長やっているトシにイアンとエイミが仙台に住んでた時に会いました。２００５年４月から転勤して別のやまなかやの店長やっています。
Yoshiko	Yoshiko is a receptionist in a hospital. She is friends with Jun, who used to be Ian and Aimy’s Japanese tutor. We became friends since then and often go out drinking together. 病院の受付やっているヨシコにジュンがイアンとエイミの日本語指導助手やっていた時に会いました。あれから友達になってよく一緒に遊びに行きます。
Yuka	Yuka works in a drug store, although she insists it’s a pharmacy. She is one of the BEC members. I met her while I was working at ALC. We meet twice a month for lessons and occasionally go out for a drink together. ベックマンバーのユカは薬屋さんで働いています。僕がALCのバイトをやってた時に出会いました。たまにプライベートでも一緒に遊びに行きます。
Yumi	Yumi is one of my students in Ishinomaki. I met her when I was asked to teach her kids and Mika’s kids. I see them twice a month, usually on the first and third Saturday. We sometimes have drinking parties or BBQs together. 石巻でミカと一緒に月に二回英会話やっているユミです。子供達にも教えてます。プライベートでもたまに遊びに行きます。
Yumi & Mika’s kids	These are Yumi and Mika’s kids in Ishinomaki. I teach them twice a month. The four taller ones are the elementary school group, and the two small ones in the front are the kindergarten group.　石巻のユミとミカの子供達です。月に二回教えてます。
Yukiko	Yukiko is Sachiko’s daughter. She is now studying to become a nail artist and works part-time in a ramen shop. サチコの娘さんであるユキコはラーメンやさんでバイトやりながらネールアートの勉強しています。
Yuri	Yuri is one of the first friends I made when I came to Kogota in 1998. She works as a public official in Kogota. She sometimes come to Sendai to see us. 日本に来た時にミワとはじめての友達になったユリです。小牛田町で公務員やっています。たまに仙台に遊びに来てくれます。
Yuuko (Nit-chan)	I met Yuuko (nickname Nit-chan) through a friend in 2003. She’s an office worker. We sometimes meet for drinks. ２００３年に友達の繋がりで出会ったユウコです。ニックネームはニッちゃんです。OLとして働いています。たまに一緒に飲みにいきます。
