Archive for January, 2008
Well, well, another year gone by and the start of a new one. Let’s see, how did I do in 2007? I decided not to use my credit cards anymore, and by sticking to a strict budget, was even able to pay off three of them, thanks to Budget and Quicken. I started planning for retirement. I lost 10 kilos and reached a BMI of 20 thanks to CalorieKing (it seems software is ruling my life lately!). I had a kick-ass summer vacation. I climbed Mount Fuji. I got promoted to temporary homeroom teacher. I decided to stay in Japan indefinitely. I went to Vietnam for my niece’s wedding. I joined Facebook and found long-lost friends.
All in all a pretty good year. I don’t believe in resolutions – they’re made to be broken. So here’s what I’ll “try” to do in 2008: I’ll try to finish paying off my last credit card. I’ll try to keep exercising and keep my weight down. I’ll try to find a house somewhere in Sendai. I’ll try to study more Japanese.
Happy New Year everybody, may you all be healthy, prosperous, and loved unconditionally. Cheers!
2008 being the year of the rat here in Japan, I’ve decided to use it for this month’s theme. Traditionally, the rat is supposed to bring material prosperity, which is always more than welcome. I’ve also added a snow Java script, although it hasn’t been snowing that much here in Sendai. But I’m for Montreal, and winter without snow just doesn’t seem right. So there you go, enjoy the snow, and the lucky rodents.
