Ainori #292

  • ja

Ainori is a popular reality show in Japan, aired on Fuji TV on Monday nights at 23:00.

In August 2005, I discovered that Ainori was not only popular in Japan, but also all over the world thanks to Bit Torrent technology. I decided to write a summary of each episode, and do a translation of the weekly photo captions from the official site. What do I get out of this? I get to improve my Japanese, I get more traffic to my blog, but above all, I get the satisfaction of knowing many non-Japanese speakers all over the world can appreciate a truly unique reality show. Enjoy, and don’t hesitate to post any comments or questions you may have.

Ainori #292

WARNING! THIS IS A SPOILER!

Wow! This was quite unexpected, but this week the situation completely turned around between our two love triangles. Man, I love this show!

Hide

Aya

Arashi

First, Hide finally started to give more attention to Aya, by helping her improve her look. He had bought her some clothes, and coordinated her new appearance, making her change her image which consisted almost exclusively of black clothes. Better late than never, and especially for this guy. You’d think that Aya wouldn’t reciprocate, being attracted to Arashi as she is, but this week something totally unpredictable happened: The group went to a night club, and Arashi got real drunk because he had noticed Aya was wearing what he thought were some of Hide’s clothes. In a drunken haze, he broke one of Ainori’s unwritten rules, by declaring his affection to Aya. Her reaction was a bit ambivalent at first, because she didn’t liked the fact he had done that while under the influence, but was still glad to hear he liked her. However, the next morning, Mr. Arashi had almost no recollection of what happened the night before, and Aya didn’t like that at all. What a jerk! What an idiot! He knows something is wrong, but has no clue as to what happened. I guess the way is now wide open for Hide, although he’ll probably screw that one, too.

TK

Mie

suuzan

Finally, TK realized that Mie was not in awe of him. That’s good, because I was beginning to think we had some sort of a Hide clone on our hands. Indeed, Mie seemed to be having a great time with Suuzan at the beginning of the episode, which is how TK realized he was not “Da One”. However, when Mie and Suuzan got together to talk, she told him she had someone on her mind, and upon asking about him, he replied he wasn’t interestd in anyone in particular. That kind of disappointed her, and it seems she abandoned the idea of them becoming a couple. Now it seems she’s starting to wonder about TK. They also kind of hinted that someone would walk towards the Love Bus next week to get the tickets… To Be Continued…

Special treat for non-Japanese speakers :-)

A very crazy episode sir! tk had a few cool parts of his own in this show. And regarding his hospitalization, I hope he’s alright! Those flowers they were floating better be for some other reason!

And Arashi… what a dumbass… He better go back to studying his Power-Up Notebook. He needs to make an entry of how not to not be a screw up. He hit a homerun, but got drunk and didn’t touch all the bases before heading home. And the next morning he forgot there was a baseball game. Good job.

yeah i agree with tony!! this episode is crazy! its was a shock!! i kinda feel sorry for Arashi though…
i cant wait for your speacial treat and for tony’s subtitle! (^_^)

Oh, yeah, crazy indeed… yet quite different in a good manner. I myself liked it for it proved what a failure of a man Arashi is (or I wonder if perhaps I should say an alien with a kind-of-decent human shape…?). Maybe Aya has been saved from Armageddon as I hoped she would? Only time will tell. However, Bouchard san’s right about one thing: even though this is Hide’s chance to get Aya to like him, considering his background he might screw things up as well. Well, this is the best time to change such an awful trend! Go Hide, do it right this time (though I still hate the way how you turned Omami down ^^)!
Now about TK… hmm, I don’t think things have changed so much. Even if MIE was kinda touched by him for a moment, I don’t believe her fascination for Suuzan has dissapeared… at all. However, I liked the speculation factor in this episode. I mean, it’s a rare thing to see in Ainori a change of heart. Normally, when a man or a woman has set his or her heart on someone, it hardly changes its course. Not this time, hehe… or so it seems. Wish that had happened when Nacchi was on the show… but she was so fixated with that damn yaku ni tatanai otoko!… Aw, well…

That baseball game analogy is pretty funny. And regarding TK, personally I think if the worst had happened to him, we would have heard about it long ago, not to metion they’d probably had pulled the show off the air.

    >Kinki
The treat should be ready in a couple of hours.

    >Marcelo
I knew you’d like watching Arashi screw up like that. I’m sure you were booing out loud and throwing rotten fruits and vegetables at your screen! (^_-)

Good question. As I mentioned before, I watch the show when it is broadcasted here in Japan, so I never actually had do download any of the epsiodes (I probably will when I’m in Vietnam during the holidays, though). I think if there were downloads available, you’d already be able to find them @ D-addicts, already. However, since they aren’t, my guess is that they don’t exist, but hey, you never know. Thanx for the link, too, looks very interesting.
