The Sylvain Bouchard Support Team

Monday, September 5th, 2005

I must apologize for not posting much last week. I was crazy busy at school as one of the organizers of the yearly cultural festival, and I had 5 twelve-hour days in a row because of that. Needless to say, I’d come home, eat dinner and pass out in front of the TV shortly after. By the same token, I was unable to check my emails, and today upon doing so, I found a few interesting ones. Check this out:

Dear Sylvainbouchard Member,

Your e-mail account was used to send a huge amount of unsolicited spam messages during the recent week. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and confirm the attached document so you will not run into any future problems with the online service.

If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to cancel your membership.

Virtually yours,
The Sylvainbouchard Support Team

Wow, my site offers membership and I have a whole team working for me? I must have been real drunk when that happened because I have no recollection whatsoever of this double life I’m leading. Wait a minute, could it be my evil twin? In any case, I don’t see what could go wrong if I open that attachment file, coz apparently, it has already been scanned by my very own Virus Detection Software! Hey, you can’t trust anyone these days.

It would almost sound believable if it weren’t for the fact that I’m the sole administrator of my site, and that there are only two people in the universe with mail addresses ending with “@sylvainbouchard.com”, i.e. me and my wife. The things those guys will write to make you click their stupid attachment files. Even the dragonfly in my previous article wouldn’t fall for it. Idiots!
